HKU Industrial Engineering Association, HKUIEA, was first founded in 1975. When it was first founded, it aimed at organising activities for fellow IE students and promoting the discipline of Industrial Engineering to the public. Over the past 40 years, the association has played a significant role as a platform for members. It provides a variety of welfare for the students of the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering. Activities related to academic, recreational, social, etc. are organised.
HKU IEA currently has more than 2,000 members. A large portion of them are alumni. Such a wide alumni network is very unique among other engineering disciplines.
