Young Engineers Programme (YEP) 2016/2017

HKIE Young Engineer Programme 2016/17

Congratulations to Warren Kan Sui Wang, Xanthe Chui Sin Yan and Dorcus Kwok Tsz Wun, who won the CHAMPIONSHIP of HKIE Young Engineer Programme 2016/17.

YEP2016/2017 aims at broadening the horizon of participants (Yeppers), as well as to promote the Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering (MIE) profession. In order to achieve these aims through inspiration, Yeppers were encouraged to attend a series of seminars and technical visits. After joining YEP 2016/2017, Yeppers were expected to know:

The Route to become a Professional Engineer (MHKIE)
The Role of MIE in our society
The Job Nature and Opportunities in MIE
Their Career / Professional Development

The programme was held from October 2016 to March 2017. During the programme, a wide range of MIE applications/real practices in the society were demonstrated to the Yeppers through Local and China Visits. Local visits mainly focus on the MIE applications for below industries:

1.Public Utilities
2.Recreation
3.Logistics and Transportation
4.Food and Beverage

After the local visits, Yeppers had a 20 minutes team presentation in March 2017 to share their experience on the programme and how they can inspire the future students to join the YEP in order to meet the theme of “Smart Manufacturing”.
