Mixed reality-based incentive gamification system for warehouse

Abstract:

With the rapid industrial development brought by Industry 4.0, more problems have attracted the attention both in industry and also increasingly in academia. Under the pressure of pipelined repetitive work, the physical and mental health problems of the labor are constantly highlighted. However, the traditional solutions rely on the foreman's direct intervention on employees,  which often has little effect. Over the past few years, gamification and augmented reality have received extensive attention from industry practitioners, academics, and business professionals. As “Pokémon Go” goes viral, tens of thousands of people walk to the streets to capture electronic elves. while it brings happiness to people and allows them to get exercise. Inspired by “Pokémon Go”, we propose a gamification incentive framework based on augmented reality to help alleviate the tedious of workers. Furthermore, human factors research are critical for development of visualization tools to provide users with a new sense of immersion and can alleviate the tedious caused by repetitive tasks. In addition, the system also provides a variety of different incentive methods and explore the different effects of different methods on workers.
