Abstract
The sudden growth in e-commerce during the past decade has brought the logistics services into the limelight. Though the small and medium-sized logistics companies (SMLC) play a significant role in the success of the e-commerce platforms, they lack the ability to grow. These companies, unlike the logistics giants, struggle to get market share because of their inability to grow which is rooted in their inability to obtain financing. Large financing institutions like commercial banks are inclined towards the well-established and reputable logistics companies due to their minimal risk characteristics. Hence, the logistics financing becomes significant to help the SMLCs to obtain financing. This study addresses the situation by proposing a logistics financing platform. The platform, which is powered by IoT (Internet of things) and blockchain technologies, makes use of the digital assets of the company to support a comprehensive evaluation of its risk and repayment capability.
