Congratulations to Qihao Wu, a third-year PhD student in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, on winning the Best Student Poster Award at the International Conference on Primary Care Ecosystem: Integrated Care for Successful Ageing! With efforts between Hong Kong and France and an interdisciplinary team in Engineering and Emergency Medicine, Qihao's research work, titled "Inpatient Management with Reinforcement Learning Considering Primary Care and Ageing Population," proposes an integrated approach of optimization and learning methods to solve complex inpatient management problems. This outstanding achievement was made possible through collaboration with Professor Abdel Lisser (Signals and Systems Laboratory, CentraleSupelec, Paris), Professor Abraham Ka-Chung Wai (Department of Emergency Medicine, HKU), and Professor Yong-Hong Kuo (Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, HKU).
