Congratulations to the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) on the Championship won in the CILTHK Student Day 2022 Competition! The Champion team comprised of five undergraduate students - Fonda Maydeline, Febrina Audrey, Malik Ferrari Vegas, Park Joon Sung, and Amin Jawad - was mentored by Dr. Jonathan Ng.
 
This year, the CILTHK Student Day Competition was conducted online due to the pandemic and seven teams from local tertiary institutions participated in the competition. The IMSE team, with its outstanding performance on the topic “Matson Inc. can handle transpacific cargo within ten days with its container terminals.  Do you recommend liner shipping companies start owning their exclusive terminal?”, won the championship. The judging panel commented that the team was able to analyze the challenging problem from different perspectives and answer all the questions from the panel satisfactorily.
