On May 27, 2016 the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering held a company visit to the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal. Our students took this great opportunity to learn more about what logistics engineering is. The management of the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal introduced their corporate structures, operations, and development plans, followed by a visit to their cargo terminal. The students were excited to see how goods were collected, stored, and distributed with the use of advanced information technology. They found the visit interesting and rewarding and led to a greater understanding on daily logistics and business operations in Hong Kong and the world.
