Applications are invited for tenure-track appointments as Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (2 posts) in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance, or on tenure terms for exceptionally outstanding candidates for Associate Professor or above.

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering is one of the five engineering departments in the Faculty of Engineering, offering B.Eng., M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in fields of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management.  Excellent facilities are provided in a number of laboratories for teaching and research.  Information about the Department can be obtained at

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics or a closely related field, with a strong commitment to research and teaching.  The positions are open to all research areas in Industrial Engineering, and Supply Chain and Logistics Engineering, including but not limited to financial engineering, big data analytics, healthcare engineering, robotics and automation, cyber-physical system, sensor networks, and green logistics and sustainable supply chain management.  The priority for one post will be given to financial engineering or big data analytics, and the priority for the other post will be given to robotics and automation.  For Professor and Associate Professor, applicants should be able to demonstrate international peer recognition and world leadership in their area of expertise.  The appointees will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and supervise research students and projects.  Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 201400296) need not re-apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
