Prof. Daniel M. Cheng, Group Managing Director of Dunwell Industrial (holdings) Limited, has been appointed as Honorary Professor in Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, The University of Hong Kong. Cheng has over 30 years of work experience in industrial engineering and was elected as the Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in 2015-2017. Cheng is the Professor in Practice in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Registered Professional Engineer and Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (Environmental).  Prof Cheng was the Past Chapter President of Institute of Industrial Engineers (Hong Kong) for the year 1988/89.

Prof Cheng is currently Board member of Business Environment Council, Deputy Chairman of HK Green Strategy Alliance Member.   For HKSAR Government, he is also serving as Council Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, member of the Energy Advisory Committee, Advisory Committee on Recycling Fund,  Trade and Industry Advisory Board, Advisory Committee on Water Resources and Quality of Water Supplies, Economic Development Commission (Working Group on Manufacturing Industries, Innovative Technology, and Cultural and Creative Industries).   Prof Cheng was the member of Hong Kong Productivity Council (2009–2015) and Vocational Training Council (2011–2015), he was also the Past Chairman of Hong Kong Waste Management Association.
