Transportation Arrangement

When arriving in Hong Kong, it is very convenient to get to The University of Hong Kong. The University is located on Hong Kong Island.

  • From Hong Kong Airport: The Airport Express train costs about HK$100 each way, although slightly cheaper tickets can be purchased from the travel agents in the airport (about HK$80 each way). The Airport Express will take you to Hong Kong Station at Central on Hong Kong Island and from there you can either catch a taxi to The University of Hong Kong or take Bus No. 30X to the West Gate of The University.

  • By Bus: Take either No. 23, 40, 40M from Admiralty outside Pacific Place or No. 3B from Star Ferry at Central. Alight at the bus-stop in front of the East Gate on Bonham Road or the West Gate in front of Haking Wong Building on Pokfulam Road.

  • By Taxi: From Admiralty or Central to Cotton Tree Drive to Robinson Road to Kotewall Road and then turn right onto University Drive. Or from Admiralty or Central to Connaught Road Central to Connaught Road West to Western Street to Pokfulam Road.

Tourism

There are many tour options that you can take either before, or after the conference that will enrich your visit to Hong Kong.

Some examples are day tours of Hong Kong's famous harbour, land tours of Kowloon and the New Territories. You can also visit Victoria Peak, Aberdeen's Fishing Village and the Jumbo Restaurant, Stanley Market, and Temple Street Market, and even take a helicopter ride. You can take a day trip to Mainland China and Macau. (Visit the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Macau Government Tourist Office and China Travel Net for further information.)
